As I was riding the bus home from work today, I looked out the window and beheld Double J, but with a beard. I’ve never seen Double J with a beard and considering that he lives in Minnesota and not Seattle, I knew this could not be him. However, it may have been his twin.
The credence of the possibility is aided by the following facts: Double J has a twin brother, Double J’s twin brother has a beard, and Double J’s twin brother works downtown.
Lately, Saturdays have had a strong tendency to make me sick. Pictures will follow later.
Update: The photos have arrived! These are pictures of Elliott Bay, part of the Puget Sound, from Alki Beach on the west side of Seattle. Walked along the boardwalk a bit. I should’ve taken some pictures of the beach itself, but, alas, the thought eluded me. But at least the bay cured me. ;)
Lindsey Lawrence, a Seattle resident, apparently does not appreciate songs by the band Coldplay. She assaulted a man at a karaoke bar when he began singing Coldplay’s song “Yellow.”
It is unclear why Coldplay’s music apparently made Lawrence snap, though a famous June 2005 New York Times appraisal by Jon Pareles may offer an insight. The critic called the British group “the most insufferable band of the decade,” adding that, “the lyrics can make me wish I didn’t understand English.”
One of the positions I’d been looking at elsewhere in this jungle won’t be happening. It pays slightly more, but has no benefits. Not that I’ve been to a doctor or dentist in the last eight months, but having the ability is something important. I’m not about to work 10 months without any form of medical benefits or some kind of IRA/401k.
I’ve heard from at least one of my references for the Seattle job who has been contacted. I’m starting to lean heavily toward taking the job if I’m offered it. The opportunity and the money both make sense.
