Life is So Engaging This Time of Year
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on September 27th, 2006, at 8:14am

Updated: Now with pictures!

Alright, I’ll give you one guess who just got engaged? (If you didn’t go to college with me, you can ignore the question.)

Yup, you’re right, Tracy and Scott! Congratulations to both of you!

Tracy and Scott - 1

I called Tracy yesterday after hearing the news. She was at work and struggling incredibly to not laugh and giggle out loud. I expect if she’d been anywhere else she would have yelled, “YES! I’m SOOO HAPPY!” But she was definitely smiling.

Tracy and Scott - 2

So now the big question is: who’s next? I think we already know who it will be. Phil, hurry up and ask her already. It’s been six months, that’s more than enough time. Rock the Nav style, dude. ;)

(If you’re interested, Tracy has a picture of the ring on her site.)

Sick Boy

Sick boy, nah nah nah nah, Sick Boy, woah-oh-oh….

Sorry, I got reminded of an MxPx song. I’m not feeling well tonight. =/

So what’s going on with you people? You’ve been awful quiet lately. I guess I haven’t said enough inflamatory stuff. I’ve figured out how to get Jake to comment, but the rest of you are either not reading or you’re not interested. Come on now… don’t be bored… those YouTube videos are supposed to be entertaining! Then again, Phil did tell me he got hooked on the OK Go video w/ the treadmills. Those guys do some fun dancing.

Slightly over two weeks till move out today. Mom was getting on my case tonight ’cause I haven’t started packing and she doesn’t understand. “I just don’t understand, but okay.” Okay! But seriously, I’ve got an insane amount of packing to do and I’m hoping to move out most of my furniture on Tuesday.

I’m not sure where I’m supposed to sleep if I move out all my furniture. I should probably look into that.

Ha ha ha! Haha ha.

The laughs of a mad man. Mania is setting in.

Turns out the military guy I met a few weeks ago is a hoax. Well, at least somewhat. I hope he wasn’t completely lying to me, but a friend told me recently that military-guy is actually a thief who likes to steal from the porn-store where he worked before getting fired.

Support Our Troops! They’re heros, every one of them! Especially the ones at Abu Ghraib. (Is that inflamatory enough? I’ll find out later.)

Well, enough ranting. I’m gonna go drink some water, watch TV, and heavily contemplate cooking some soup. Mmm… soup.

All Bets Are Off

In a partial bow to Phil’s demands, I will leave one certain video off the internet. I’ll hold onto that one until a future time when it may be more appropriate. Like at a wedding instead of on the internet. Who knew my blog isn’t the right place for all things entertaining?

The good news is I’ve got a different video of embarassment to post. Good job, Jenny, you’ve provided the content for the day. To the rest of you: Enjoy! (This one will probably make a lot more sense if you know the people involved — the voices you hear include Varv, 4L, & Tracy.)

(Direct Link to Video for the RSS Feeders)

For anybody that’s curious, I used VideoEgg instead of YouTube this time. YouTube does this weird thing where it destroys the aspect ratio of your video if it’s not a standard TV ratio (4:3).

Happy Without Green Beer
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on March 18th, 2006, at 3:42am

I’ve had absolutely zero green beer today in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day here in the States, but I am happy anyway. I did listen to some Flogging Molly, but that’s the closest I got to being Irish today.

I don’t know if it’s just the aftereffects of the trip to Guatemala, but I feel a lot more hopeful about life now than I have in quite a while. I was talking to Jenny on the phone today (Phil and Jenny, you say? No way! ;) and she told me I sounded happier than I have in a year. Hey, that works for me.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) Maybe it’s just faith showing through. Eh, who knows.

All I know is this: My life is not perfect, but it’s not bad. There’s no civil war going on (it’s not in Guatemala either, but they’re still recovering), money isn’t a problem, we practically drown in food in this country, my family is great (shout out to my parents and mis hermanos)… I could list so many things.

One weird part about returning home from the vacation/trip was catching up with all my friends about their lives. A lot of my friends have had some difficult or frustrating things happen in their lives. Broken hearts, bad jobs, bizarre relationships, etc. A dose of reality. What can a person say about reality? The bad aspects won’t go away no matter what words you use to dress it up and make it more appealing.

Sorry I haven’t offered a whole lot of conclusions here, but I’m gonna try to write here more often. At the moment, I’m out of time. Later!

Seeing Many
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on October 26th, 2004, at 9:57am

I saw many friends yesterday. I got to Nebraska shortly after noon. I proceeded to my former place of residence on campus and spoke to my Residence Director, some friends in a connected hall (Dennis, Zach), bought a book of undergraduate literature which includes three of my poems, saw and talked to more friends, and then went to SpaghettiWorks. At SpaghettiWorks, I saw more friends.

From there, I proceeded to the Crescent Moon and talked to Wiggins for quite a while. It’s incredible having somebody in my life who can listen to whatever I say no matter how personal it is and not have them think any worse of me. Wiggins is like that with me and he definitely threw a lot of truth and ideas to think about in my direction. If you don’t have somebody like that in your life… get it! It’s good. One of the hard parts about being in Colorado is I don’t have somebody like that in my life as consistently as I used to, but it’s good to have it at all.

At 8pm many people converged upon The Pit (Jake, Varv, and Phil’s house). A few episodes of Invader Zim were watched and some talking was done. I got to see Jesse Luebbe, Tyler, Jake, Phil, Cora, and Tracy. Grant also came by and we talked for a little while.

Once that was done, I left to go visit Pizzo. We were able to walk around and talk for a while and it was good.

So basically, in the last day I’ve seen, talked to, and spent more time with friends than I have probably in the last month (other than Main Event). I needed it.

That’s all for now. G’day.
