Take a Sad Song and Make It Better
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on May 27th, 2007, at 6:01pm

So much happens in ten days, this is a brief checklist of things I would like to write about, but may never have a chance to get caught up on:

Thursday (May 17): The one-handed man on the plane from Seattle to Denver. Eventless flight to Omaha. Ride w/ Varvel to the bachelor party. Bachelor party.

Friday: Tyler + Luebbe + thai. Tux rental, rehearsal dinner, potential poisoning. Coffee w/ Cora. Final moments talking w/ bachelor-Phil.

Saturday: Wedding + the ups and downs. Sprite toast, substitute best man, seeing people. Dancing w/ the ladies. Tackling Phil’s brother to grab the garter. “May your quiver be full!” Cards.

Sunday: the dog, the airport, $9 roast beef + cranberry juice, mom. G&G, picked up dad at the bus station.

Monday: Getting the U-Haul, Wendy’s, lock, blankets, Mother’s day a week late, mowing the lawn, loading the truck, poker party w/ the Boulder crew. Suzanne unconscious and no good markers to draw on her.

Tuesday: Finish packing and drive. iPod. Stayed in Billings, MT. Smoky room.

Wednesday: Billings, MT to Kirkland, WA. More iPod. Country songs.

Thursday (May 24): Seeing Washington on the Eastside w/ my bro (wetlands, Medina beach, Chipotle). Movie: The Namesake. Trigun.

Friday: Work+

Saturday: Airport + grocery shopping + sausage balls + work.

Sunday: Church. Pirates 3. And typing, typing, typing…

No Corned Beef Cabbage and No Green Beer

The only green I wore yesterday was my coat. I forgot it was St. Patrick’s Day until I began receiving text messages from friends who love the day.

It’s not that I don’t enjoy St. Patrick’s Day. I had a good one in 2005 with Phil and Varv in Newport Beach, California. Last year I was working.

I worked yesterday, too, but went out with Martin after work to an Irish Pub. I was afraid it would be dangerous to visit a pub, I was afraid my fondness for the Irish flavors of Guinness and Jameson Whiskey would conquer me. And Irish Car Bombs? Yeah, those too.

I had a Coca-Cola, talked with Martin, and watched the strange collision of humans becoming inebriated. One couple sat quietly on a bench in the corner looking displeased to be there, but showing no signs of leaving. A group of four girls bunched together towards a wall shielding themselves from interaction with anyone. A girl bumped into me and apologized while blaming her friend for making her dance their way through the crowd.

The soda was good and it felt good not to go straight home after work. I didn’t talk to anyone other than Martin, but going out of my normal realm helped me to feel more social.

An Obsession Beyond Compare

Phil loves mullets.

I mention this because I found out who my new boss will be today. He’s got an insanely long mullet. I’ve heard the name “Van Halen” applied to him more than once.

In any case, seems like I’ve got a cool boss. You can’t _not_ be cool with hair like that.

Speaking of hair, I haven’t had a haircut since I moved to Seattle. I honestly don’t think I’ve had a haircut since I came here too look for jobs in October. Needless to say, the hair is getting shaggy. I’d love to do something exciting with it, but I don’t want to put in the effort (or money). If only I knew some college girls who’d cut my hair for me… dang.

I miss my Nebraska women. Y’all rock harder than a mullet.

A Major Announcement
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on December 21st, 2006, at 6:10pm

I have an important announcement to make: It’s raining in Seattle.

OMG!

Ok, really, it’s more important than rain in Seattle. The announcement is the following good news:

Phil and Jenny are engaged! Woo! Congrats to both of you, I’m excited for you and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Phil’s properly (ed: I meant probably, but it’s a fitting typo) singing songs of joy and love, and I bet you Jenny is gushing with happiness. I know they were elated when they called on Tuesday night with the news.

So here’s the pictures for your enjoyment. Oh, and feel free to leave them notes in the comments–they read this site.
