Workin’, Frisbee, Bible Study, and Cards
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on May 26th, 2003, at 11:56am

Matt and I did some housework and yardwork this morning. The lawn is mowed, back yard watered, weeds whacked, bathroom cleaned, floors swept, carpet vacuumed, etc. It’s all dandy now.

We had some barbecue over at Brian and Tom’s apartment (Kevin’s gone now, so it is thus dubbed “Brian and Tom’s”) then went and played frisbee golf with them, Chuck, Travis G., and a few other guys. Oh, and I got tanner without even going tanning.

Tonight we had our meeting for summer bible study leaders. Hatfield gave us some advice on things and some information to consider when leading the study. I’m teamed up with Jaci to lead one of the six studies. It’s every week and topical covering various aspects of living a Christian life.

Afterwards Jenny and Ray stayed and played a fine game of spades, although Jenny and Matt did beat Ray and I. I have no luck at that game, but I do enjoy it.

Tomorrow I’m going to… well, I’m not sure what I’ll do yet. Perhaps I’ll call Wally World back about that job application. Maybe some other places. Maybe I’ll get lucky and hear back from one of the other places. It’s gotta happen soon.

In Da Hizzouse

I am in the Havenstein’s house now. I actually got here on Saturday morning and unloaded the few things I’d taken with me for my week at Kevin’s apartment. But now, here I am in the big house. Matt’s gonna stay up and work in Omaha for another week, so I’ve got this place all to myself for a bit. One of my only complaints: Dialup internet! AAaaaaah! Oh well. Good old NetZero is letting me surf for free and all I’ve got to do is stare at their ugly banner ads and commercials when it’s dialing the net.

I’ve had a pretty fun weekend. Yesterday we all headed to the AMC 24 in Omaha to catch Matrix:Reloaded. 10 Second Movie Review: Not as good as the first, the whole orgy/dance party and sex scene sucked, the characters weren’t developed much, and most of the plot (that wasn’t in the commercials) happened in the last 30 minutes of the movie. On the upside, the plot is pretty cool. I mean, Neo isn’t as cool as Jesus (and he’s not real, either), but he’s an interesting character. I wish he just wasn’t so indecisive and would stop asking “why am I here?” You’re here ’cause you need to do your thing, dude! Figured that out already. Thanks. Ok, I’m done ranting.

After the movie, about 15 of us went to the house of Jenny’s family. Barbecue, hanging out, Monopoly (I lost… oh well), hanging out, talking, and hanging out. Tracy and I both crashed there so we didn’t have to make the drive back to Lincoln. I’ve gotten used to sleeping on couches; I’ve done it three nights in the past week.

Went to a Vineyard church in Omaha with Jenny, Tracy, and Travis (a friend of Jenny’s from high school, graduated from Wheaton this year). After that had lunch, stopped by Mead (Tracy had some work to finish up real quick), and then came back to Lincoln. Oh, and also got some food (Thanks, Jenny!).

And now I’m just chillin’. Tomorrow: Job hunt continues. A few retail places, a few online apps. Maybe I’ll hear back from somebody, too. That would be a nice change.

Like that’ll happen.

Lack of Sleep, but That’s O.K.

I am so done with this semester. See me rejoice. *Woohoo!*

I’m tired ’cause I couldn’t fall asleep last night (maybe some of that Mountain Dew Livewire had something to do with it) and my final was at 7:30 this morning. * yawn *

I’m going to hang out and talk with Jenny after lunch. And tonight, to 4L’s casa!

At some point I’m going to relax and enjoy the first day of summer. And then I’ll start wanting money and go find a job.

Or donate plasma.

In Jenny’s Room
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on May 3rd, 2003, at 10:01am

I’m in Jenny’s room, hanging out. I’d typed a few sentences, then Jenny and I engaged in a battle for the mouse (lasting a mere two seconds) and the window got closed, so now I’m starting over. La la la la la. Uh… Oh, I was saying something about missing out on all the fun. Rachael attacked Matt about something, and I heard other sorts of laughs. Apparently I need to think more before I make comments to women. They don’t want to hear that the only guy interested in them is probably a stalker. (That’s not really what I meant to say…)

Hung out at Crescent Moon yesterday. It moved to a new location. I’m sad ’cause it’s not as open and no couches and a totally different environment. There’s a nice outside area in a courtyard to sit and chill which is ok.

Anna’s surprise birthday party was today. That was fun.

Monday I’ll be mostly done and Wednesday is my Japanese final.

I’m going to meet with Wiggins next semester for discipleship. He’s quitting his current job soon to go back to Atlanta for the summer and get married and stuff. So there’s one job possibility for me.

And now I’m going to get off the laptop. I miss having internet access in my room. It’s kinda good though ’cause I actually get some real work done. Anyway, latez.

Update: Well, I’m done hanging out at Jenny’s and now I’m hanging out in a computer lab. Whee. G’night.

Nav Formal 2003
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on April 12th, 2003, at 12:48pm

Woohoo!

Nav Formal was a ton of fun! Granted, its 3:16AM (when I’m typing this part) and I’m extremely tired, slightly giddy, but Im still energized by adrenaline. Ok, on to the details.

Jenny looked awesome. (I took pictures, but alas, my camera is not digital. I’ll get some uploaded as soon as I’m able, which may be a while. Somebody else might develop theirs first and I’ll just scan ‘em.) She was wearing a long, bluish, strapless dress. Her wrist corsage had two sunflowers with blue ribbon around it. Her hair was up and swirly and I have no adequate hair terminology with which to describe it, but it looked spiffy.

We all met over at Kauffman and were running slightly later than our original plans, but the timing worked out okay in the end. Our dinner reservations didn’t have a specific time and our table was waiting when we got there. All the women looked splendid, and the men were stylin’ in dressy suits/sport-coats/shirts, pants, ties, etc.

Dinner at Vincenzos turned out to be really nice. The food was spectacular and everything I would expect from a high quality Italian restaurant. The greatest thrill we all received was when the waitress brought out our check and told us somebody at another table had seen us praying and paid for our entire meal. Seriously. (Actually, the same thing happened at dinner for some of us before last years formal, also.) i.e. God is awesome!

The formal dance was fun. Latrice did a good job of DJing it and mixed up the different genres of music effectively. A lot of the music was gospel rap/hiphop, and enough country, slow dances, and rock mixed in to keep it level. I enjoyed it a lot. (Only drawbacks: small dance floor = crowded dance floor, and it was really hot.)

Afterwards some of us headed to Sunmart, grabbed some snackfood, headed to Kauffman and hung out for a while. People started leaving pretty quick ’cause they got tired, and eventually I made it back here.

And now, it’s time for me to sleep.
