I had lunch with Tom (a man from church) and some of his relatives today. Roast, potatoes, carrots, and gravy. His mom is a good cook. Cookie dough ice cream satisfies me. After dinner, he showed me the three acres where he grew up. It’s in a forest which is rare for Nebraska. His father was into botany and and Tom also knows some. He named and pointed to several trees which I barely know the names of. We took out a 1972 Pontiac Nova for a drive. It’s the oldest car I’ve driven. It’s got a nice engine in it.
Tonight, I went out country swing dancing. It’s the first time I’ve been to the Pla-Mor this semester and I had a great time. A group started going earlier because one of the members is a working man and goes to bed early. I used up my extra energy for the day.
The last dance included a fast-playing fiddle. Jill and I danced to it and attempted to match the speed, but our pace changed sporadically. We were both running out of energy. Afterwards, Jake informed us that someone commented that we were like a “spastic ADD couple”. I’ll take it as a compliment
Good times. G’night.

Just got back from country-swing dancing. It was fun. Today was an off-week for the normal crew of people that go, so Tracy and I ended up dancing a lot and I also danced with Crystal and a couple of her sorrority friends. Anyway, it was fun and a much-needed outlet for some of the frustration of the day. Tracy makes me laugh.
I went to Holmes Lake this morning and spent a couple hours reading the Bible and thinking about life. I was kinda stressed, so it was beneficial to get away. The ducks quacked, the ice floated, and I read.
Burger King’s “Grilled Sourdough Burger” tastes good. (I wouldn’t say it if it weren’t true.)
Windows XP runs kinda slow sometimes. It seems like it just freezes up on one task it’s doing and doesn’t pay any attention to the next thing I’m already starting on. oh well!
Cummulative studying time for finals so far: 15 minutes. (I’m working on it.)
G’night!

Tonight was country swing dancing night. It was fun. I danced with many girls. I’m getting better at doing a move called “Table Top” and also just getting a bit faster. Some girls are pretty fun to dance with since they’ve been there every time I have and we know each other’s styles decently well (Tracy and Rachel, por ejemplo). When that happens, it’s fun to go really fast. Sometimes though, fingers slip away or you accidentally run into somebody else (whoops!). On the way back home, we dropped Frank off at his fraternity. Jake let Tracy and I out to go see Phil in his dorm. Turned out Phil was sleeping, so we just walked back to Pound while talking on the way. Tomorrow, Tracy is going to cut my hair. Cost Cutters = $15. Tracy’s Hair Salon = $0. I’m saving (fifteen minus zero….. oh!) fifteen dollars.
One test this week, some other homework and quizzes. I’ve got a lot to read to be ready for the test. This is the second test in World History and I need to do better on this then the last one to try to boost my grade from a C up to at least a B. This week and next will be crucial in determining the outcome of my grades for the semester. Time to git in gear.
(If I ever finish this roll of film and get it developed, I’ll have some pictures of The Missouri Road Trip and… whatever else I’ve taken pictures of so far this semester.)

definition of country swing dancing: something I’m not very good at, but want to get better, and it was SUPER-FUN! Woohoo! *starts stepping around and twirling an invisible girl*
In other news, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 is fun as ever, but I’m sad to report that we’ve (Phil & I) finished all the characters and are currently finishing off the gaps. Hours of practice makes the game fly by too quickly.
