Two Months and Two Days
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on November 20th, 2004, at 11:48am

I’ve been dating Allie for two months and two days. Woo!

Today’s activities involve cleaning the house so it’s presentable when Allie arrives Tuesday night.

The piles must be vanquished, the bed magically made, the ceiling dusted, the cement floors polished, and my socks folded! It will require effort of a heroic magnitude the likes of which hasn’t been seen for at least three weeks. The task daunts me, but I will prevail in this hour! I will not give up, I will not surrender, I will fight on against the forces that assail me this day!

Technology is awesome. So far in my one month anniversaries of dating Allie, technology has played at least a minor roll. Last month, I made use of cellphone text-messaging to herald the arrival of flowers. This month, iTunes and email played the key rolls in creating and sending her a custom CD.

Seriously, I love technology. And if I didn’t, you would’ve never known. That’s something right there.

Unimportant

The last post I made is supposed to be difficult to understand. There’s only one way you’ll know what I’m talking about, and if you don’t please be content knowing it was not meant for you.

I watched Donnie Darko yesterday. It’s a confusing as hell movie, but I’d recommend watching it. Luebbe, I think you’d especially like it as it’s one of those trippy, confusing, pscyhologically baffling movies you can think about for the next two days and not run out of things to ponder. It’s about a kid named Donnie Darko who suffers from some pscyhological problems. The movie does an excellent job establishing the characters, the plot was well constructed, and the music is fantastic. Oh, and it goes kinda sci-fi. Not in the alien, technologically-advanced sense, but more philosophically. If you haven’t caught it yet, I recommend you do.

Work, work, work. In about three weeks, I’ll find out of I get _the other job._ So pray about that, please. Thanks.

I’m looking forward to a week from tomorrow. Why? Thanksgiving break starts for Kansas State students! Woo!

“Cal, you’re not a K-State student.”

I know. But Allie is. And she’s coming to Colorado. Woo!

“Awesome!”

Thanks!

You’re supposed to say you’re welcome.

Main Event 2004 Pictures
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on October 27th, 2004, at 12:47am

Main Event 2004 pictures are available for your viewing pleasure. I captured a fair amount of people, but I managed not to get pictures of a lot of people as well. If I didn’t get you captured on pixel, I apologize, but enjoy what’s there nonetheless.

(How ’bout that Allie! Isn’t she gorgeous?)

Update: Sorry, the pictures aren’t up at the moment.

So Much to Think About
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on October 25th, 2004, at 8:39am

I went to Main Event primarily for social reasons. I figured it would also be a good time to worship God through music and hearing a lot about him, but I considered that it would simply be another advantage and not so much my focus. It turns out this idea was wrong. God totally used this weekend to tell me some things. One of the biggest is that Japan still matters and missions still matter and that if I’m not going, I better be staying for the right reasons. So I’m evaluating my reasons to make sure they’re legit and not excuses.

One of the other big things is the importance of spending time with him. Having been a Christian most of my life, it would seem like this should be obvious. I know about it, for sure, but so often it’s easy to put aside the simple things like spending time reading the Bible in order to run off and gratify my own selfish desires. That ain’t cool! I need to spend more time listening to him and talking to him.

My primary reason for going was also satisfied. Thursday night, I got to Kansas State and was able to spend a large amount of time with Allie and also go to Nav Nite. The time together with Allie was wonderful. God gave us some good opportunities to talk and he certainly answered some prayers.

I really enjoyed seeing my other friends as well including many from this summer like Engle, Larry, Leslie, and others. I saw some friends from Nebraska including Cora, Jake, and Double-J. There’s also Jenny who somehow seems no longer a Nebraskan while she’s wearing purple, but is certainly not somebody I would consider a “Wildcat” yet. But she’s a friend, so the color doesn’t matter.

As soon as I finish posting this, I’m gonna get ready and drive up to Lincoln and spend the rest of today there before heading home tomorrow. Yay for that!

This is me signing off. G’day.
