A Warrior Cries
A Poem by Erundur Anwamehtar
8/22/2004

Everyday, the war continues
with flaming arrows flying far.
The warriors fight for countless hours
going forth, never back, beneath the stars.

A Hero arisen leads the fight.
He’s drawn many people to his side
and constantly they live in light
of His love. He gave all to stop the tide.

He gave them life, his life, and they live.
“I have come that YOU may have life!”
He shouts for men and women to give
their chains to him and leave behind eternal strife.

Many join - many, but not all.
Some hate the light, prefer blindness,
and run through broad streets until they fall
forever because they refused a Hero’s kindness.

Rally, men, rally to his cry!
Turn, women, you must open your eyes!
Look now, all, and realize
you must be on the right side
before you die
fighting for lies.

Rotting Banana is the new Cellar Door

I went for a walk, and the sky is blue. If I were Jake I’d write a haiku.

(Why Cellar Door? Go read more.)

Fish Swim Faster
A Poem by Erundur Anwamehtar
6/21/2007

Anchors carry more weight than
cement shoes attached to our love.
The way you cry, I know
you’ve given up.
When we hit the bottom, tell me so
then tell me nothing.

I hear your words as we descend,
the fish swim faster and move me more –
no longer can we pretend

everything is going to be okay,
everything will be alright,
our love will make it through the night
our love will help us fight
the fears and keep us near

until we say nothing
forevermore.

Pull out the light bulb to hide the decay,
nothing uncovered, no need to say
“I hope never to see daylight in dark times
when the moon is shy,”

close both eyes
to the jealous clock green
with envy unmoving
unable to share dimension

31 million seconds

it takes two to beckon,
one to hollar, one to respond
a moment comes to be

gone

Ink Stains on a Paper Napkin

Ink Stains on a Paper Napkin
A Poem by Erundur Anwamehtar
February 01, 2007

I dream in caramel
a nightmare so edible
I lick my lips and scream
suffering through sweet insincerity.

Suck it in more, witness gore
your tongue will not forget
the flavor of the moment,

the budding chaos in a night
rich and impassible

I cannot escape the chill
liquid, it brings the madness
within me.

No courage needed to ascend
the green straw,
the verdant truth can be seen:

I never want to leave.
