Apparently, ukulele music is experiencing a resurgence in popularity. According to the article “Those Four Irresistible Strings” in the New York Times, the ukulele is experiencing it’s third era of popularity due in part to the a YouTube video in 2006 of Jake Shimabukuru playing “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”

Another popular ukulele tune recently is Israel Kamakawiwo’ole rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
Dancing 2008 from Where the Hell Is Matt?
I found this video incredibly inspiring. It’s one further push in the direction I’m leaning.
“Which direction is that?” you ask.
Whichever direction takes me around the world. Seattle is a good center point, but I need to TRAVEL!!! All y’all in Nebraska or Kansas or Illinois or Colorado or wherever who are married or working or in college… well, I’m hoping to take advantage of my singleness and my freeness and do something spectacular with it. Now I’ve just gotta work on my dance moves. Perhaps I should ask Jake for some pointers?
When I searched for “awesome” on YouTube, this was the number one result. It is awesome.

I aim to entertain. Enjoy.
I just discovered Animoto, a music video creator. You feed it your images and a song you want to use and it uses its magical math skills to fit the images to the beat.
It let’s you create 30-second videos for free. Longer videos with additional features cost either $3/video or $30/year.
For now, I’m sticking w/ the free video option. My first attempt at creating one is below using pictures from the recent trip Benjamin and Suzanne took to visit me.
