I spent several hours this afternoon working on some junk for my lyrics database. (OT:Tyler says his teacher is a moron!) I finally got PHP::Pear working properly (the server admins got PEAR added to the include_path so it all works correctly now). So I converted all the files over to using PEAR for database abstraction. Took a while and there aren’t any noticeable benefits, but it might make things easier someday for editing the files. Hopefully sometime in the near future I’ll finish the last piece of the lyrics adder script so I can insert all my album info into the database and begin adding lyrics like crazy. It’ll still be a while.
Tonight I went over to Kauffman and hung out and talked to Jenny and Sonya. Jenny was doing her laundry, so we helped fold some of that up. How many different ways are there to fold socks? I either don’t fold them or else just fold two together. My mom folds up the top of the sock over its partner. Some people (e.g. Jenny) fold the socks all the way inside. Odd stuff. We progressed to slightly more exciting times with a game of Rummy. It’s a card game. I haven’t played it for many years. Initially, my Aunt Sue in California taught me how to play. That was on one of the family vacations we took to California every few years to visit my dad’s side of the family, including one of his sisters, her husband, and dad’s parents.
Jenny ended up winning the game. (Friend!) And now I’m back here in my room ready for sleep. お休みなさい。

If there’s one thing I’ve learned today, it’s not to trust a margarita. “I’ll just have one with dinner since I can.” Well… it was a Blue Pacific margarita, and I was kinda shocked when it came out. It was half as big as my head. (Ok, perhaps that’s an exaggeration.) In any case, the waiter kinda scared me when he said “Jeez dude, you drank that like a fish. There were four shots in it.” So, in summary, I’m not going to drink alcohol for a while. There’s a lot better ways to spend my life then tipsy off of a stinkin’ margarita.
I had a good time hanging out with Mark and his Jen up in Omaha again today. We had dinner at Chili’s, went to a mall, hung out at Border’s for a while, and shortly after that I came back home. With the hour drive both ways, I’m worn out. Time to study Japanese for a bit and then sleepy time for me.
In other news
Cora got an RA job here in the same dorm I’m in this year. Woohoo! I’m not sure about Jake or anybody else I know who applied, but I’ll probably find out what happened tomorrow. Latez!

Jenny has decided to take the ARD job on East Campus next semester. It’ll be sad to have her farther away (10/15 minutes), but she feels she can make a difference on that campus and be used there by God. がんばります!
I just finished up my Music Experience homework. I’ve got that class in half an hour, and after that, TGIF. (Note: Psalms says to praise God, why not praise him for making Fridays?)
I had a job interview yesterday. It went relatively well. I’ll hear back from them within the next week. I really hope I get the job because I feel like I could use my computer skills and also have a lot of room for learning and growth as well.
My dad got in a car accident yesterday. =( He’s okay, but I guess the car is damaged. My brother told me all of this on IM before my dad even made it home. I’ll probably call home tonight and see if everything’s going okay.
Later tonight is Nav Nite, and after that I’m heading out to good old Aurora to watch Two Towers con mis amigos to have a great time. W00T! Peace out.

What’s up? A lot’s happened this week. I got to hang out with my conversation partner a few days ago for a few hours. Chinese, Japanese, and Thai dishes for dinner. That was pretty awesome. Chinese New Years is in about a week and that will be fun to go to also.
Classes are easy. Need more be said?
I’m considering moving to East Campus next semester. My friend Jenny was offered an assistant residence director position and she asked a few of her friends, including me, if we’d consider moving over there. The intent would be to get to know some of them better and also to be a Christian witness in the dorms. Only about 200 people live on East Campus.

Had a good time hanging out with some friends this afternoon and evening and night. Hung out with Jenny and Tracy for dinner then we went down for some chillin’ with the Phillin’. It was fun to get to hang out and get caught up on talk and also just to joke around and laugh. So… yeah. Good times.
My brother will find out by Friday if he gets one of the jobs he applied for. He went to CSU for a semester and now he’s looking for a job.
