Yo! Steam those broccoli!
Boiling leeches most of the water-soluble vitamins out of them.
A majority of the time, that’s how I cook: Uncomplicated, imprecise paraphrasing. It usually turns out quite well.
Steaming is a good idea too. With frozen vegetables, I put a few teaspoons of water in the base of a bowl, add the veggies, cover and microwave for 2-5 minutes depending on the quantity. It’s effectively steaming without the cleanup. Add a bit of salt or butter and you’re good to go.
I agree with Patrick–get yourself one of those little metal steamer thingies at Hellmart for a few bucks. http://www.amazon.com/Amco-10957-Collapsible-Steamer/dp/B000Q4N2LO
But once it’s steamed, add some butter, sliced almonds, crumbled bacon, and a little salt and pepper. Sex that broccoli up, Cal.
