“I am a pirate, you are a princess, we could sail the seven seas.” – PlayRadioPlay!
I’ve done much in the last Eleven Days. Written, rewritten, applied, and phone interviewed. Now applying for more.
On the side, people continue to pay me for being creative. I enjoy this. It’s nice to have positive cashflow.
On Saturday, I wrote a Python script to parse Apache log files and dump the data into a MySQL database. I worked on improving it Sunday. Monday night, I had to do some other work, but I’m looking forward to getting back to the Python. Coding is fun and I love it especially when I’m in the groove. The zone. Focused in, ignoring everything else, and just coding.
I watched the season finale for Deadlist Catch tonight. Somehow, a show about crab fishermen has become one of my favorite television shows. I’ve been pairing back the number of shows on the DVR “to record” list in an attempt to free myself from the constraints of the television. I called up the satellite co. and threatened to cancel my service, but I settled for a price drop of $12/month. I like to watch the occasional Nebraska Huskers football game in the fall and it’ll be here soon enough.
Upgraded the blog to WordPress 2.6. Whee. A few minor tweaks and improvements to the back-end as usual. On the front-end, the only difference you’ll notice is an extra smattering of Quenyan words I grabbed from some dictionaries and language guides recently as inspired by comments on a recent post.

Go watch Dr. Horrible w/ all speed possible! It is hilarious. Apparently, it’s only gonna be streaming on the web until July 20, 2008. (With plans for a DVD at some unspecified point in the future.)
Oh, and there’s a short comic about Captain Hammer on Myspace if you want to read that.
Dr. Horrible is made by Joss Whedon. Yeah. If you know the name, you know it’ll be worth your time.
If you’ve ever wondered how great a singing super-villain show could be, this is your chance to find out!

I may be approaching another transition. I’ve updated my resume and am starting to target local tech startups in search of positions where I can reach my full potential.
I’ve had a full 24 hours. Last night, I stayed up late working on the update. Today, I drove to work rather than taking the bus. After work, I headed to a local event, did some networking, learned about a new web product, and now I’m at home. I’ve done my followup for the evening.
I’m gonna go chill and check out the new PS3 movie rental service Sony just launched.

Dancing 2008 from Where the Hell Is Matt?
I found this video incredibly inspiring. It’s one further push in the direction I’m leaning.
“Which direction is that?” you ask.
Whichever direction takes me around the world. Seattle is a good center point, but I need to TRAVEL!!! All y’all in Nebraska or Kansas or Illinois or Colorado or wherever who are married or working or in college… well, I’m hoping to take advantage of my singleness and my freeness and do something spectacular with it. Now I’ve just gotta work on my dance moves. Perhaps I should ask Jake for some pointers?
