Country Songs

I wake up earlier on days I don’t work. Today I woke up early. I showered early and left the house early.

Value stores are awesome. They nicely fill the gap between Wal-Mart/Target and Adverse Poverty. Being in a poor state of mind, I decided to browse around the local value store for furniture and clothing today. I found a bookshelf w/ no shelf-holders, a small TV-stand, and several awesome flannel shirts. However, I bought none of these.

Yay, thou I shop at the value shoppe, I shall buy no things.

I made one exception to the rule today. I bought two country albums from the mid ’90s. I don’t know the names of the albums, but they’re from Tim McGraw and Brooks & Dunn. After road tripping w/ Isaac recently and reading Lefsetz, I felt an urge to sample the music of the country. I figured what better way to do it than with two old albums for $6.50.

After detouring to the lake for a while, I came home and have been listening to punk music all afternoon.

By the way, did I mention my date last Sunday? *peers at the previous posts* Ah, I did! Well, never mind, let’s just say I’m happy about how things are going so far. I called her last night and managed to talk for almost 45 minutes.

Things Thea and I have in common: Lord of the Rings, anime (Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, etc.), Garden State, the Garden State soundtrack, Japanese food, Vanilla Coke.

In any case, that’s one date down and hopefully many more to come. Out of the four dates I’ve been on this year, this relationship is the only one I saw hope for when the date happened. I’ll keep you posted.

The Payoff for Not Having Any Friends
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on June 26th, 2007, at 9:56am

In high school, I didn’t have a lot of friends. I sat around and learned HTML and Visual Basic for fun. As a result, I can type very, very fast.

At the job test today, I had a three minute warm up. Then I had the real five-minute typing test.

Final Score: 94 WPM!!!

Then I wrote an essay and that was that. I can’t say I enjoy driving in downtown Seattle, but I think another factor is that I had to wake up at 8AM which is about three hours earlier than normal.

Apparently I’ll find out in a couple of weeks whether or not I get an interview.

I just spent seven hours hanging out with Tron’s sister, watching anime, eating hamburgers, and drinking Vanilla Coke. It was good times.

I actually remembered to start updating the “For Your Perusal” section recently so check over there in the sidebar down towards the bottom for links to stories I find interesting. There’s a good interview with Bad Religion, some links to iTunes related news and DRM, and an interview with the founder of PostSecret.

You Remember Back in College When…

So y’all remember Homestar Runner? And good old Strong Bad? The site is still releasing new content as I found out today when I went over there.

Aghast, however, there is dire news! “The Paper” is retiring! The Paper, as you should know if you’ve watched it before, always prints out at the end of one of the Strong Bad emails. The Paper makes his final appearance in “The Paper.”

So please, if you have time, go visit an old friend in his final moments of glory.
