It’s slightly less than a month till I’ll be back in The Land of My Schooling again.
I learned something funny today. Apparently University of Nebraska apparell is worn by one of the largest hispanic gangs in the country because a lot of it has the letter “N” and features bright red colors. Who knows if it’s true, but I read it on the internet. I found it kinda amusing ’cause I’ve got a few items of this variety and my car itself is bright red. However, I’m certainly no part of the “New Family.”
If you guys don’t know anything about the Norteños or Sureños you should check out these Wikipedia entries. The main reason I care about this is ’cause branches of these gangs have been popping up with lots of activity in my area recently including mundane activities like graffitti and more tragic results like murder.
Heck, somebody got shot at my apartment complex just last weekend. The good news is it was only drunk white people and I haven’t seen a thing in the paper since. (Take into account I haven’t read the paper since.) But we did have a gang-related homicide about six blocks from here several weeks back. Kinda sucky, but that’s the world we live in.
You know what I’m going to do about it? I’m gonna be careful where I where red and blue. ‘Cause chanting “Go Big Red” is actually encouragement for a large, Northern Californian gang.
Now you know… the rest of the story.

I began therapy for my arms on Tuesday morning. Not exactly fun stuff and here I am typing when my arms could use more of a break, but whatever. I’m glad I’m at least being proactive about it before it gets too bad. Even the therapist said my arms aren’t as bad as they could be.
The most unpleasant part of the ordeal yesterday is when she put some kind of liquid on a couple spots on my arms, hooked up electric nodes to these pads she placed above the liquid, then attached me to a battery and turned it on. Sure, it’s only a little 9 volt, but it’s kinda weird having electricity sent through my arms. I asked the reason behind it and what it’s called, but all I remember is something about negative ions, and for now I’m summarizing the gaps in the procedure with the phrase “voodoo magic.”
Tonight was Shorty’s night as usual. I had a really good time though I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go tonight. I did decent at poker so that helped my mood out. After three beers I felt good and became more talkative. Nothing went terribly wrong this weekend, but I had some trouble with some upgrades I was doing with my computer and ended yesterday incredibly frustrated, so I was glad to just hang out and forget about all that for a bit.
A fairly large crowd showed up tonight and that helped things. Eight people from work (excluding myself) and a couple of people’s friends showed up. Did the usual pool, talking, etc. Odessa and I split the two games of pool we played tonight.
What else can I say? Oh, Chipotle stock went up 11% today making it up 49% since the time I bought it. Thanks for eating burritos ’cause it’s helping me out. If only I owned 10,000 shares instead of eight.
That’s all I got.

I probably should’ve mentioned this before, but I didn’t want to go into the somewhat gross details. I still won’t go into the details. In any case, since getting back from Guatemala I’ve been dealing with some health issues. My doctor seems to be a moron, but the best I can tell is I’ve got some sort of evil bacteria in my system or parasites or something. The drugs work while taking them, but I keep reverting back to the same problems after being off them for about a week. Anyway, I’m gonna try to see the doc again in the next couple days. But basically, if you remember, pray that this will go away ’cause I’m starting to get really tired of it.
And while I’m at it, let me just mention that it’s never a good idea to make demands of God. Nope, not a good move. I’m not saying that’s why I’m having this problem, but I did say something about “I don’t care what happens to me, just do [that thing I want you to do].”
Update: Also, I suppose I should mention I’m having some trouble with my arms being sore from typing too much or having bad ergonomics or some combination. That’s my doctor’s appointment for today. I’m trying to schedule an appointment with my regular doctor today, but apparently he’s not even around this week. His nurse is supposed to call me back though. I hate the medical industry. Except when they fix me, but that doesn’t seem to be a priority for anyone other than myself.

Please be patient for a bit while the site is getting fixed up. It recently got moved to a different server on my host and I’m having a bit of problems getting everything back together again. Hopefully it won’t be more than a few more days till everything is back to normal.
Update: Well, slowly I’m getting the problems worked out. I’m still having trouble accessing the database, but it’s there somewhere otherwise you wouldn’t be seeing these posts at all.
