Furniture Comforts or Kills

The Current Setup
The Fresh Computer — my new computer is obviously the one on the right with the flatscreen monitor. I have the other monitor (the one on the left) setup as being a secondary monitor for the new computer, and I can login to the old computer over the network so I don’t actually use the keyboard/mouse for that system. I’m loving the new setup and trying to make it work for my benefit, but what I really need is a decent desk. I bought that little table for the old computer for $10 at the flea market last week. I have a feeling the setup I’ve got may be ergonomically destroying me. I ought to ask Luebbe for advice on that. Eh, whatever.

Couch? Awesome!
Couch? Awesome! — yup, I finally got a couch. Cost: $0. I believe if I try hard enough I can make it through my whole life without ever buying a couch. Somebody always wants to get rid of one. Sure, we didn’t have one here for six months, but it showed up. Now if only people gave away coffee tables…

Slacking

Sorry for the lack of updates. My creative flow has been cut off at the moment for some reason. I’ll try to write soon as I’ve got plenty of things I could mention or rant about or whatever, but I’m too tired and preoccupied to say anything at the moment.

An Opportunity

I can’t say this will be the beginning of any great revolution because others have done it before me. I also don’t think my skills in vidblogging will ever quite compare to The Dane, but I may do this kind of thing on occasion. Why? Because I can.

Forgetful

Y’know, it’s probably a bad sign I didn’t even realize today was good Friday till I read mention of it on a blog. Dang.

In The Agora has a hymn posted for Good Friday. It’s a good one. Their site has some good content every now and then, plus they give me timely reminders about things I should remember in the first place. I need to get a Church calendar feed to integrate into my 30 Boxes calendar or my Google Calendar. That’d be sweet.

The Stork Shall Be Landing Soon

No, I haven’t eloped and impregnated anyone. I have a baby Dell computer on the way. Yes, I’ve broken all the standards of good Christians/Catholics everywhere and requested customized genes. My lucky little delivery will come w/ a 3.0ghz Pentium 4 processor, 1GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce 6800 (256MB) graphics card, a 19″ digital flatscreen monitor, DVD burner, 9-in-1 media reader (no floppy for me!), integrated ethernet port (no modem for me!), firewire port, USB ports, and the typical standard stuff (skin & bones).

What I’m really hoping is this guy will have a longer life than his predecessor, but I’ve been very proud of Gyakudetsu — he’s put in six good years of service almost to the day. I’m amazed he’s made it this long and still been functional. I’m proud of you, boy, now out to pasture!

In his second life, Gyakudetsu will be used for parts and may be recycled into a Linux server of some type. In any case, I’ll give you some pictures when I can (maybe this weekend). It all depends on when the stork arrives.

Update: So fast! I love it! Muahaha! This is the first post from the new beast and, let me tell you, it’s pretty! Not as pretty as an Apple (nothing quite like an Apple to tempt man), but it’s still something. I can’t wait till I get some time to upgrade it with the hard drives from my old computer. Plus, it looks like I can pull off dual-monitor action if I can make room on the desk. Woo!
