So in about three hours I’m gonna have my arm sliced open and hopefully drained of whatever nasty puss and infection resides within it. I’m not exactly looking forward to this, but I’m glad to be getting it over with. My arm’s been hurting for nearly a week now so this should be a good thing. I really hope I get a hideous-looking scar. “Check _this_ out, I got it from the Fall Out Boy concert!”

Update: I made it through. That hurt. I’ll put up pictures later, but unfortunately I didn’t take any beforehand. :( I’m sure you’re disappointed. Look below to see the pictures. They’re kinda nasty so don’t look if you don’t want to.

my arm with packing strip - This one is gross. The strip coming out of my arm to the left is “packing gauze.” This gets put in the hole to keep it from closing so the wound will heal right and prevent it from gathering liquid again.

my arm’s hole - this is the hole left in my arm when I pull the packing gauze out. I have to replace it every day. (Sorry for the lack of focus in the picture.)
