Peer Impact isn’t the P2P application you’re used to. It’s more like a P2P version of iTunes. Translation: you’re paying to download from other people. So why would anyone want to do that?
It’s a marketing idea. The files you purchase you can then share on the network, and when other people buy the same songs they download it from you. For participating in the network, you get a small kickback on the profits (a few cents per song).
I don’t think the idea is an especially brilliant one, and mostly it seems like a marketing driven idea — you can also promote songs on the internet and get some benefits when other people buy songs ’cause of your vicious tactics. Yeah. Like that would work.
So anyway. If you think it’s a good idea, let me know and I’ll spam you before you sign up so I get credit and some “digicash” to spend on songs. Oh, and if you sign up while it’s still in beta stage you get $5 of free songs to test out the software.
Honestly, why would I want to try it out if I didn’t get some free music? I snagged some Dashboard Confessional songs — the “So Impossible EP” and their song “Vindicated” from the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack. (As a note, “Vindicated” has been impossible to find for purchase without being forced to buy the whole album.)

Fall Out Boy hit #1 on MTV’s TRL today. In celebration, they’re offering huge discounts on all their CDs and merchandise via their webstore. The second page is where you’ll find all their CDs. I own “From Under the Cork Tree” and “Take This To Your Grave” and they’re both excellent pop-punk albums. Catchy tunes, witty lyrics, and a bit of angst make it totally worth the time.

Today I interview for a job position. I believe this is a job I can enjoy if I get it. It has much to do with computers, and more specifically the areas of documentation and databases. It will be a good place to start a career if I am hired. Ostensibly, I should know the outcome of the interview and whether or not I get the job by this evening or tomorrow.
Update: I’ve had the interview and it went very well: I had good answers for all of their questions, I had good questions when they asked if I had any, and I presented myself (pros and cons) with confidence.

It’s a fresh start once again. Will I ever settle down and stay in one place? I guess it’s reminiscent of my life. I’ve never stayed in one place too long. The longest I’ve ever consecutively lived in a city has been four years. That may change now that I’m beginning to develop a career. However, technically I haven’t even begun a career yet. I’m right in the middle of changing jobs, but I have high hopes that I’ll enjoy this one and stick with it. I have every intention of beginning work on a masters degree as soon as feasible. As much as I’d like to be done with school forever, I have a feeling a higher degree will help me enhance my ambitions and approach my long-term hopes.
I’ll continue to update you on my plans here and I expect to be more consistent at this point. Thank you for following me from place to place and I apologize for making yet another transition.
