Poem: The Shutter
Author: Erundur Anwamehtar
From the west the sun comes
backwards to reach my eyes and shout
“I am fading and soon will reveal
nothing; you will see
nothing.”
I run inside to grab
my camera. It captures
the light’s remains. Picture
one last picture.
It’s all you get
to keep, but it’s an image
you’ll never see.

I’ve been dating Allie for two months and two days. Woo!
Today’s activities involve cleaning the house so it’s presentable when Allie arrives Tuesday night.
The piles must be vanquished, the bed magically made, the ceiling dusted, the cement floors polished, and my socks folded! It will require effort of a heroic magnitude the likes of which hasn’t been seen for at least three weeks. The task daunts me, but I will prevail in this hour! I will not give up, I will not surrender, I will fight on against the forces that assail me this day!
Technology is awesome. So far in my one month anniversaries of dating Allie, technology has played at least a minor roll. Last month, I made use of cellphone text-messaging to herald the arrival of flowers. This month, iTunes and email played the key rolls in creating and sending her a custom CD.
Seriously, I love technology. And if I didn’t, you would’ve never known. That’s something right there.

The word “haver” is a verb which means “to chatter,” “to talk foolishly,” or “to talk aimlessly.”
ex: “And if I haver, hey I know I’m gonna be / I’m gonna be the man who’s havering to you” (The Proclaimers - I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)
