The David Potter Band

Today’s been swell. I woke up at some point. I called my fam and talked to mom and Isaac. Oh, and I got a hair cut. I have less hair now and it’s great. Summer style and such.

Bean dip rocks. Vanilla Coke, too. Props to Tracy for the hair and the dip. Sorry ’bout the hairy mess.

I chilled a bit this afternoon and went over to Antelope Park after dinner to toss around a frisbee and sing songs with Ray and other people. After that, went to the courtyard behind Crescent Moon and caught a show by the David Potter Band. Decent stuff. Had a great time listening to the music and talking with people.

Newcomers Home is gonna be in Omaha next Friday. I’m planning to go with Heidi, Merry, and Jesse. It should be sweet. I know one of the band members from high school so I’m looking forward to seeing him again. I haven’t actually seen him since my high school graduation party so it’ll be cool to see him again.

The following is a true story:
High school girl (prom clothes, probably over): How old are you?
Me: 22.
High school girl: You’re my new best friend.
Me: No, I’m not.

Think about it for ten seconds and you’ll get what it’s about.

Done thinking? Still haven’t got it? She wanted alcohol. Duh. So anyway, it’s bed time. Good night.

Gah. So I might not be able to take the summer class I need to graduate. Since I’m an out of state student and I’ve been here over four years, my scholarship has stopped applying and I have to pay in-state tuition. Basically, I won’t be able to afford it unless somehow I can get my scholarship to count, gain residency, or get my federal loan to tack it on. Not sure how that’ll work out, but gonna check on it tomorrow. I will assault the administration building with full force! So pray that it’ll go well, eh?

If it doesn’t work out, I’ll have to see if I can take the class somewhere else and get the credit to transfer. Not sure if I can do that, so I’ll also have to talk to my college admin people, too.

In other bad financial news, … well, not sure I should be posting this here, but in any case I’m hoping some things go well for my family in the next couple months. I’m hopin’… and prayin’… and all that. Uhuh. Latez.

*Update (5/3/2004):*
End the paranoia! My scholarship is allowing me to take the class for the cost of in state tuition. *w00t!* So no worries. Checked with my college about credits just to make sure and should everything end well this semester and I get done my english class and summer class, I’ll be graduating in August for sure.
