MP3.com is dying in its current form. As of December 2, the website will be terminated while the new owner of its assets, CNet, works to provide a new artist services website.

All I have to say is: Argh. I enjoy MP3.com. Tooth & Nail uses it to distribute free mp3 songs of some of its artists and I also use it to check out what’s currently popular and available in alternative and punk. So much for that. I’ll be interested to see how record labels like T&N and Drive-Thru Records distribute artist MP3s after MP3.com is no more.
