Not The Man
A Poem by Erundur Anwamehtar
04/02/2001
Note: I was digging through my poetry today and found this one. It’s short, it rhymes, and I enjoy it.
I am not the man you need,
I am not the man you see.
I am no longer here,
I am burried somewhere near.

I am one of the world’s newest McD’s employees. I got hired today after a brief and painless interview process consisting essentially of common sense questions regarding customer service and personal experiences. Next Wednesday is orientation, and at that point I’ll fill out all remaining paperwork and buy two nice pairs of McD’s Pants. Hopefully, I’ll start working soon after that and get the money rolling in. I do like buying gas $1.10 at a time, but it would be nice to have a full tank (which I will have as soon as I find somewhere to cash this check my grandfather sent me… [thanks!]).
In the meantime, I suppose I can start working more on my independent study class and doing other tidbits of work around the house this summer. One of my tasks is to create a webpage for Mike & Kim, so I might get started on that.
Request: If anybody knows a good source of up to the second Christian rock news, let me know. I’ve been wondering if there’s anything like that available online and haven’t really found much other then a few more contemporary Christian magazines and webcasters.

Director’s Cut
A Poem by Erundur Anwamehtar
06/04/2003
I rented “Saturday” from the video store.
It cost a picnic and a few hours of time.
I sent it back to The Past when finished,
but I kept analyzing every facet of plot,
the lines spoken by each character,
and analyzing every angle of development.
Then a phone-call to a friend explained
the outcome. I couldn’t blame
myself for not seeing the ending,
but it’s good to know despite temporal
distaste.
Disappointment is a scratched frame,
the joy to come an endless reel,
regardless of how I feel
now.
We are fortunate the Director
is still
directing.

Oh yes. It’s true. I am sad. But, I’m not gonna ramble about it on here.

I have had a splendid day. Update (6/2/2003 – finished the post): My friendly bedside alarm awoke me at 10:30AM to the sounds of a local classic rock station. I think the song was the Grateful Dead singing about riding a train high on cocaine.
In any case, the day proceeded. I prepared sandwiches and fruit, loaded up those, juice, pretzles, and cookies into a small cooler. I grabbed a nerfish football from my boxes in the basement, some a few things in my backpack, set my CD-binder next to my things. Thus the preparation ended.
Preparation for what? Patience, please.
I read my Bible for a while and prayed. I think it’s a good way to spend some time every day, especially when making decisions, planning, and seeking guidance in any aspect of life. (I often fail with regard to the “any” aspect.)
Philippians 4:19 – “And my God will meet _all_ your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. ”
I watched Matt play Diablo II while waiting for a phone call. The phone call came, and I then drove fifteen minutes across town in order to…
pick up Tracy for a date. We went to Pioneers Park and had a picnic (hence the food preparation). It was an enjoyable time of talking, football tossing, and meandering through the park. If you sniffed at the right moment, you really could smell the pine trees.
