Luebbe has often told me about the glories of the power nap. Now I’ve got a second opinion.
Completely disengaging from your workplace (or wherever it is you happen to be) is important because it seems to get you to the REM stage faster, and this is where the big nap benefits are to be found.
power nap? i sure know what they’re talking about, but i’d never called it a power nap. the word “power” just seems to kill the whole concept for me . . . power and relaxation just don’t seem to go together for me. in fact, now that the phrase has run through my mind a couple times its starting to piss me off, although, i see why they say it. i much prefer a plain simple “nap” or the nice general descriptor “lazy” especially if my napping earns me the label “lazy monkey” . . . yeah, that’d be sweet. much better than a “power nap.” just look at it this way: would a monkey take a power nap? goodness, no! a monkey would just think, “screw it — i’m freakin tired!” and sleep for a while. so in short, if i were a monkey i’d be taking a nap right now, in fact, screw it — i’m gonna go take a nap myself, and boy will it be sweet.
the POWER part is just talking about the energy you will collect by taking the nap, yes the nap has to do with lazy, but afterwards you get energy
