Plenty
Posted by on May 25th, 2003, at 7:57am

After the wedding yesterday, Tyler, Cora, Jake, Jesse, Matt, and I hung out here in the house playing Monopoly, conversing, and such things. It was fun getting to hang out with everybody outside the context of school. Being here in Lincoln and able to do things like this is nice. It was also good to see everybody else who was at the wedding, yesterday.

Matt’s almost moved in; he ran home today to get his clothes then he’ll be here for the summer. Chesnut brought some things over today, too. He’s going to be living here for a couple weeks before he goes to Zambia as one of the team-members from our university’s Navs. I’m not sure if he’s gonna start staying here tonight or not. I’m not sure if Matt will be back tonight or not. The last couple nights we’ve had four people stay here in the house ’cause they needed a place to crash. Perhaps a return to being alone?

I don’t feel alone. Or I just don’t feel lonely. Even with the silence.

Thoughts. Plenty of them, today.

Kevin’s Wedding
Posted by on May 23rd, 2003, at 1:43am

Kevin is getting married on Saturday (congrats!). Last night was the bachelor party. In movies, people always associate the bachelor party with unrivaled insanity, hordes of women, and alcohol. Fortunately, I assumed nothing of the sort for this bachelor party (nor would I have wanted it). It actually consisted of dinner at Skeeter Barns (a barbecue restaurant), massive ammounts of card playing at the hotel (Spades and Poker), donuts (mmm…), and some story telling. Fun way to spend your night.

Tonight is the rehearsal (with dinner beforehand) and another party afterwards.

Saturday is the actual wedding. I’m an usher, so I get to escort people into the room. Actually being in the wedding means I get to be there at the church for about six hours.

After the wedding, I don’t know anything about the honeymoon, but Kevin and Kim will go take up residence in Colorado Springs. * waves goodbye *

Update: The wedding was great. Ushering really isn’t that hard.

Tank’s absence from Matrix:Reloaded
Posted by on May 21st, 2003, at 10:43am

Tank (acted by Marcus Chong), one of the characters from the original Matrix movie, is not in the sequel. When watching the movie, at first I was confused with who this dude “Link” is and what happened to the original operator for Morpheus’s ship, the Nebuchadnezzar. I don’t quite remember how they wrote him out of the movie, but he’s not there. It turns out it has a simple explanation: Chong got greedy.

Film industry sources say the actor made repeated phone calls of a harassing nature to the filmmakers after his salary demands were not met. Tank was subsequently written out of the sequels and replaced with a character named Link.

I guess the red pill isn’t the only way out.

A Little Bit of Routine
Posted by on May 21st, 2003, at 6:59am

Wake up around noon – it’s easy to do because the master bedroom stays very dark due to the blinds on all five windows.

Eat some sort of breakfast – cereal or eggs.

Internet – check email, chat, dig up job possibilities.

Lunch – noodles or microwavable canned foods. (Note: next time I go shopping, I’m not buying more Mac & Cheese or canned pasta)

Apply for jobs – internet or real life.

Slack time – anime or movies or whatever.

Phone calls – with people. I’d talk to your cat, dog, or fish, but I don’t think they’d answer.

Dinner – see entry _lunch_

Slack time – see above.

Sleepytime – around midnight.
