Rain
Posted by Erundur Anwamehtar on April 16th, 2003, at 12:45pm

My hair is still wet and the stain of rain discolors my navy-blue T-shirt. I walked around campus for about 15 minutes to enjoy the first strong rain-storm of the spring season. On the walk I saw a fraternity lawn get soap dumped on it (part of a sorrority prank, no doubt), some students swimming and dunking themselves in our fountain by the student union, and other people walking around and having fun (although some may have been intoxicated).

Nav Nite was tonight this week in order to avoid conflict with various services held at churches the other nights of the week related to Easter.

On a nice pessimistic note, my Geography of Asia class for next semester got cancelled due to budget cuts. Did I mention I hate economic recessions?

Cora Awarded A Kal Scholarship

She had no idea.

Cora was awarded the prestigious Kal Scholarship for Success & Achievement on Wednesday night. Cora, a third year Secondary Education major with an emphasis in mathematics, received the award with a look of confusion dawning upon her face.

“I was like ‘What the heck’” she said. “I really had no idea what was going on at first.” Afterwards, she said she was thankful for the award. “This’ll really help me out the next time I need to do a load of laundry.”

Cora is the first annual recipient of this award presented by the Kal Association for Recognition.

Correction: The Daily Kalian story on Wednesday forgot to mention the scholarship award being $0.25.
