Dead week is progressing nicely and I’m almost halfway there. Seriously though, it hasn’t been that hard yet. I’ve been shafted by the Language department who still hasn’t gotten a dupe of the tape done for me so I can finish my last Japanese homework assignment. I have a quiz in International Relations tomorrow and that Japanese assignment, but I think after that it’s just finals left. I’ve got four this semester.
Tonight is the LESTER Christmas party for Navs. Saturday is the regular Nav Christmas Party. It’s gonna be fun.
I’ve been theorizing about setting up a lyrics database on this site containing lyrics for all of the albums I own. This is only initially. I’m not sure where this will go, but I’d like it to get bigger. There are already several good lyrics sites in existance, so my site’s specialty will be Christian bands/groups whose lyrics may not otherwise be posted anywhere. This idea will take a lot of work. Right now I’m thinking I’ll do some of the work using XML. So… to get started, I’ve got a bit of a learning curve. I’m not completely sure how it all works, but I’d like to get it hooked into a MySQL database of some sort. Let’s see… MySQL -> XML -> XML Parser -> XHTML -> Your Browser. The benefit of using XML and a parser would be that I’d just have to use different parser code for different forms of output. Obviously, the web will be the main goal, but this leaves open other options. *stops rambling*
