Hi! Well, that poem was the most optomistic thing I could say today. I thought about the idea when I was sitting in my room praying and gazing out the window this morning before lunch. I’m probably going to talk to my advisor today and ask him important questions like, “What classes should I take next semester?” and “How long till I graduate!?!?!!!” Minor details which certainly affect my life. Yesterday I didn’t actually get any homework done. (Unless you count reading two pages of World History out of the 100 I’m behind…. whoops.) Today I’m hoping I might actually get some stuff done. Anyway. I’m hungry. Later!

The moon shrunk as it rose
higher into the sky
and lost some of its yellow
this harvest season.
I sneezed and kept going.
Now
the world looks dead,
it’s so pale.
I checked for a pulse,
and found it weak.
Perhaps hibernation?
“Winter is without purpose”
people think, and so do I
at times.
The Platte River was dry
earlier this year.
They say the rivers that feed it
starved to death.
Peanut-butter thick mud grabs
shoe-bottoms and makes a sandwich
with the pavement.
Water and dirt are in the recipe,
and the water comes from melted snow.
It doesn’t take a microwave,
just a bit of heat or a sunny day.
The snow prepares us
for Spring.
I finally met my International Studies advisor today… for the first time… ever. This is a milestone in my life. I was afraid it might be my tombstone, but fortunately for me, it was not that deliciously deadly.
Apparently, I may, in fact, GRADUATE after FOUR YEARS of college. *subtle subliminal message to my parents…* That’s good news. The only thing that stands in the way is good grades and taking the right courses each semester. No problem. I’ll just have to start studying now. *sigh* What’s a bum gotta do for a free ride? *grabs a textbook*
…
Finally
I can hear what you said
Echoing in my head
I’m losing…myself
I’m shaking deep inside
I’m having trouble breathing
I need somewhere to hide
Away cause I am healing
